10g sugar is in 100g solution

Density of solution = 1.2 g/ml

We know Volume of solution = Mass / Density

= 100/1.2

Volume of solution = 83.33ml

We know (w/v) % = (Mass of solute/Volume of solution) × 100

= (10/83.33) × 100

= 12%
