Concept: The density of solution can be defined as the ratio of the mass of the solution and the volume of solution which can be represented as: ⇒ Density = mass of solutionvolume of solution.

Given: Density of the solution is 1.25 g/ml.

Find: Calculate the value of w/w%.

Solution:

10%w/v solution of sugar in water means 10 g of glucose present in 100 g of water.

Then Mass of glucose is 10 g

Mass of water is = 100 g−10 g=90 g=0.09 kg

and density = 1.25 g/mL

To find the molarity i.e, w/v

Density =  m/v

               =1.2 g/ml

volume= mass/density

molality= 100 g/1.2 g/ml

              =83.33 ml

              =0.0833 L

molarity=  0.0566/0.0833

               =0.67 M

Final answer: 0.67 M
