Given:-

•Mass of water(solvent)=450g

•Concentration of the solution=8.5%

•Mass of sugar(solute)=Xg

To find:-

•Mass of sugar or value of X

Solution:-

Mass of the solution=450+X

We know that-----

=>Concentration of solution=Mass of solute/Mass of solution×100

=>X/450+X×100=8.5

=>100X/450+X=8.5

=>100X=8.5(450+X)

=>100X=3825+8.5X

=>3825=100X-8.5X

=>3825=91.5X

=>X=3825/91.5

=>X=41.80g

Thus,the amount 'X' is 41.80g.
