therefore, x+y = 160000
x = 160000-y

but 3:5=x:y
3/5=x/y
after cross multiplication
3y =5 x
putting value of x as 160000-y
3y = 800000-5y
800000=5y+3y
y = 800000/ 8
y= 100000
x =160000-100000
= 60000

smallest share = 60000
