lets say that the some investment is x dollar and other is 2000-x dollar
now x*8/100 - (2000-x)*7/100 =40
theirfor 15x/100-140=40
hence if we calculate then x = 180*100/15
gives x= 1200
so the investment is 1200 dollar and 800 dollar
