Gɪᴠᴇɴ :-
- Total money = ₹500
- Total notes = 90
- Dimensions of notes = ₹5 and ₹10
ᴛᴏ ғɪɴᴅ :-
- Number of 5₹ notes
- Number of 10₹ notes
sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-
Let number of ₹5 notes be x and ₹10 notes be y
then,
➢ According to 1st condition :-
- Total money = 500
➭ 5×(No of 5₹ note) + 10×(No of ₹10 notes) = 500
➭ 5(x) + 10(y) = 500
➭ 5x + 10y = 500
➭ 5(x + 2y) = 500
➭ x + 2y = 500/5
➭ x + 2y = 100
➭ x = 100 - 2y. --(1)
➢ According to 2nd condition :-
- Total number of notes = 90
- No of 5₹ notes + No of 10₹ notes = 90
➭ x + y = 90
➭ x = 90 - y. -(2)
From (1) and (2) , we get,
➭ 100 - 2y = 90 - y
➭ 100 - 90 = 2y - y
➭ y = 10
Put y = 10 in (2) , we get,
➭ x = 90 - y
➭ x = 90 - 10
➭ x = 80
Hence,
- Number of 5₹ notes = x = 80
- Number of 10₹ notes = y = 10
