a sum of ₹ 500 is the form of denominations of ₹5 and ₹10. if total number of notes is 90, find the number of notes of each type.

Let no. of notes of 5 rupees=x
no. of notes of rupees 10=y
so according to the question
x+y=90
x=90-y
and also 5x+10y=500 {total money is 500 so no. of notes *note of one type tells us about the money}
so , now put value of x
5{90-y}+10y=500
450-5y+10y=500
5y=500-450
5y=50
y=10{ 10 rupee notes}
so, x=90-10
x=80{ruppes 5 notes}
