let the total no. of 10 rupees notes be x
no. of 20 rupees notes = 50-x
value of 10 rupees notes = 10x
value of 20 rupees notes = 20(50-x) = 1000-20x
total amount = 10x + 1000 - 20x
.•. 10x+1000-20x = 800
-10x+1000 = 800
1000-800 = 10x
200/10 = x
x = 20
.•. no. of 10 rupees notes = 20
no. of 20 rupees notes = 50-20 = 30
