let the age of father be x
let the age of son be y
according to question
x+y=60
after 14 years
x+14=3(y+14)
x+14=3y+42
x-3y=42-14
x-3y=28
solving these two eqns
y=8 and x=52
so, age of father is 52 yrs and age of son is 8 yrs
