Amount = Principal + Interest

Let P = 100

Then A=200

so

200=100+ (100*r* 25 )/3*100

(100*300)/25*100=R

12%= R

The amount will triple in

300= 100 + (100*12*T)/100

(200*100) /100*12=T

16 years 8 months = T

In 16 years 8 months, the sum of money at simple interest will triple itself.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Given: A sum of money at simple interest double itself in 8 years 4 months.
  • To solve:  In how much time, the sum of money at simple interest will triple itself.

Solution:

  • Let the sum of money at simple interest be 100 rupees.
  • As per the given statement, we will get 200 rupees in 8 years and 4 months.
  • Here we need to get triple the amount of 100.that is 300 rupees.
  • Since the amount is in simple interest, the interest will be the same.
  • Therefore, simply add the 200 with 100 and also add the year’s, we get

       200+100 = 8 years and 4 months+ 8 years and 4 months.

        300 = 16 years 8 months

  • Hence, the answer is 16 years 8 months.
