*Question:

A sum of money becomes 4 times in 20 years at simple interest. Find the rate of interest

*Answer:

Let Principal is P

A=P (1+rt)

After 20 years A=4P

So 4P=P (1+r20)

Dividing both sides by P

4=1+20r

4-1=20r. 20r=3

r=3/20

Converting into percentage

r=3/20 × 100r=15

Step-by-step explanation:

Here is your answer buddy,

Let, The principle = ₹ X

Therefore,

Amount = ₹4X

Time = 20 yrs.

Now, Interest = ₹ Amount - Principle

= ₹ 4X - X

= ₹ 3X

Now, We know that,

Interest = PRT/100

=> 3X = X*R*20/100

=> 3X = X*R*20/10

=> 30X = 2×R×X ( by cross multiplication)

=> 3X/X=2*R

= 2×R

=> R =30/2

=> R = 15

Hope this helps you.
