Given :-

The sum of money shared among Jane , Tom

and Mary are in the ratio of 2 : 4 : 9

The difference between Jane and Marry share = $420

Solution :-

Let the ratios be 2x , 4x and 9x

According to the question :-

The difference between Jane and Marry shares

= 9x - 2x = $420

= 7x = $420

x = $420/7

x = $60

Therefore ,

A sum of money divide among Jane , Tom and marry are

Jane = 2x = 2 * $60= $120

Tom = 4x = 4 * $60 = $240

Marry = 9x = 9 * $60 = $540

Hence ,

The total sum of money

= $120 + $240 + $540 = $900 .
