a sum of Rs. 10000 was invested in such a way that its certain part was invested at 10% for 5 years and the remaining part was invested at 8 % for 3 years. If the total interest earned was Rs. 3960, the sum invested at 10 % per annum is​

let a part of investment be x @ 10%

then the other part is 10000-x @8%

x×0.5 + (10000-x)*0.24 =3960

0.26x = 3960 - 2400

x= 6000

sum invested at 10% = x= 6000/-
