x + y = 63 (1)

Subtracting equation (1) form equation (3):

4x + y – x – y = 120 – 63

3x = 57

x = 19

Putting x = 19 into equation (1)

19 + y = 63

y = 63 – 19 = 44

Number of prizes, each of Rs 100 = 19

Number of prizes, each of Rs 25 = 44
