A sum of Rs 4,360 was to be divided among  A,B,C and D is the ratio of 3: 4:5:8, but it was divided  in the ratio of 1/3:1/4:1/5:1/8 by mistake. As a  result .A received rs 956 more

Explanation:

The sum = Rs 4,360

The ratio for A, B, C, and D is 3:4:5:8

So, A ratio = 3 ÷ 20

And if the ratio is changed

That means for A, B, C and D is 1 ÷3:1 ÷4:1 ÷5:1 ÷8

If we take the LCM so it would 120

So, the new ratio would be 40:30:24:15 total is 109

So A ratio = 40 ÷ 109

The share of A in the first situation would be

= Rs. 4,360 × 3 ÷ 20

= Rs. 654

And, in the second situation, it would be

= Rs. 4,360 × 40 ÷ 109

= Rs. 1,600

If we make a difference so the amount is

= Rs. 654 - Rs. 1,600

= Rs. 956 more
