A sum of Rs 500 is in the form of denomination of Rs 5 and Rs 10 . If the total number of notes be 75 , find the number of each type of notes.​

Let the number of RS 10 notes be 75-x

Equation:

5x + 10(75 - x) = 500

5x + 750 - 10x = 500

5x - 10x = 500 -750

-5x = -250

x = -250/-5

x = 50

Let the number of 5 Rupee note be x

Then the number of 10 Rupee note would be 75 - x

Given that, Total money = Rs. 500

According to the question,

$\sf 5x + 750 - 10x = 500$

$\sf 5x=250$

$\sf x=\dfrac{250}{5}$

$\sf x=50$

Therefore, there are 50 notes of Rs. 5 and 10 notes of Rs. 10
