Correct Question :

A sum of Rs. 500 is in the form of denominations of 5 and 10. If the total number of notes is 90. Find the number of notes of each type.

AnswEr :

Let the Notes of Rs. 5 be n, and Notes of Rs. 10 will be (90 - n).

According to the Question Now :

⇒ Value of Rs. (5 + 10) Note = Rs. 500

⇒ (No. × Value) + (No. × Value) = Rs. 500

⇒ (n × 5) + {(90 - n) × 10} = 500

⇒ 5n + 900 - 10n = 500

⇒ 900 - 5n = 500

⇒ 900 - 500 = 5n

⇒ 400 = 5n

  • Dividing Both term by 5

n = 80

◗ Rs. 5 Note = n = 80

◗ Rs. 10 Note = (90 - n) = (90 - 80) = 10

Number of 5 Rupees Note and 10 Rupees Note are 80 and 10 respectively.

⇒ (No. × Value) + (No. × Value) = Rs. 500

⇒ (80 × Rs. 5) + (10 × Rs. 10) = Rs. 500

⇒ Rs. 400 + Rs. 100 = Rs. 500

Rs. 500 = Rs. 500 ⠀⠀⠀Hence, Verified!

Answer:

Let the 5 Rupees Note be x, and 10 Rupees Note be (90 - x)

=> 10 Rupees Note + 5 Rupees Note = 500

=> (10 × (90 - x)) + (5 × x) = 500

=> 900 - 10x + 5x = 500

=> 900 - 5x = 500

=> - 5x = 500 - 900

=> - 5x = - 400

=> x = - 400/ - 5

=> x = 80

• Rs. 5 Note = x = 80

• Rs. 10 Note = (90 - x) = 10
