Given

A sum of Rs 500 is in the form of denominations of Rs 5 and Rs 10. Total number of notes is 90

To Find

Number of notes of each type

Solution

Let Rs 5 notes be , " x "

So , Rs 10 notes are " 90 - x "

⇒ 5 ( x ) + 10 ( 90 - x ) = 500

⇒ 5x + 900 - 10x = 500

⇒ - 5x = 500 - 900

⇒ - 5x = - 400

⇒ 5x = 400

x = 80  \pink{\bigstar}

So , Rs 5 rupees notes , x = 80  \pink{\bigstar}

Rs 10 rupees notes , 90 - x = 10  \pink{\bigstar}

GIVEN :-

  • A sum of Rs 500 is in the form of denominations of Rs 5 and Rs 10.

  • Total number of notes is 90.

TO FIND :-

  • Number Of Notes Of Each type.

SOLUTION :-

Let ₹5 Notes = x.

And, ₹10 Notes = 90 - x.

So, The Equation :-

5x + 10(90 - x) = 500.

➝ 5x + 900 - 10x = 500.

➝ -5x + 900 = 500.

➝ -5x = 500 - 900.

➝ -5x = -400.

➝ 5x = 400.

➝ x = 400/5.

➝ x = 80.

☆ ₹5 Notes = x = 80.

☆ ₹10 Notes = 90 - x = 90 - 80 = 10.

Hence, The Number Of Notes Are 80 and 10 respectively.
