A sum of Rs.6600 is to be divided between Aman & Amit in the ratio 2 : 3. How much will each get?

let the amount distributed be 2k and 3k

so,

2k+3k=6600

5k=6600

k=6600/5

k=1350

Solution :

Amount = Rs 6600

Ratio = 2 : 3

Let Aman share = 2x

Amit share = 3x

2x + 3x = 6600

=> 5x = 6600

=> x = 6600/5

=> x = 1320

Therefore ,

Aman get = 2x = 2 × 1320

= Rs 2540

Amit get = 3x

= 3× 1320

= Rs3960
