Given:- A sum of Rs. 7,700 is to be divided among three sisters Vidusha, Vimla and Vaishnavi. The simple interest on each part at 5% per annum after 1, 2 and 3 years and remains equal.

To find:- The difference between amount of share of Vidusha and Vaishnavi.

Solution :-

Let the amount provided to Vidhusha, Vimla and Vaishnavi be x, y, and z rupees.

Now, according to question,

 \sf \to \:  \:  \frac{x + 5 \times 1}{100}  =  \frac{y + 5 \times 2}{100}  =  \frac{z + 5 \times 3}{100}

 \sf \to \:  \:  \:  \: x = 2y = 3z

  \sf\to \:  \:  \:  \: \: x \ratio \: y \ratio \: z = 6 \ratio 3\ratio2

Hence, required amount would be:

 \sf \dfrac{6 - 2}{6 + 3 + 2}  \times  \: total \: amount

 \sf \dfrac{6 - 2}{6 + 3 + 2}  \times  \: 7700

  \sf\implies \: Rs.2800

Therefore, The share of Vidusha is more than that of Vaishnavi by Rs.2800

Question= A sum of Rs.7700 is to be divided among three brothers Sunil, Sumant and Surat in such a way that simple interest on each part at 5% per annum after 1, 2 and 3 yr respectively remains equal. The share of Sunil is more than that of Surat by:

A) Rs.2800

B) Rs.2500

C) Rs.3000

D) Rs.2700

Correct Answer:

A) Rs.2800

Description for Correct answer:

Let Sunil, Sumant and Surat get x, y and z amount respectively.

x+5×1100=y+5×2100=z+5×3100

=> x = 2y = 3z

=> x : Y : z = 6 : 3 : 2

Therefore, Required amount

= 6−26+3+2×7700

= Rs.2800
