Let rupee10 notes be x
Then rs. 20 notes are 50-x
10x+20 (50-x)=800
10x+1000-20x=800
10x-20x=800-1000
-10x=-200
10x=200
x=200/10
x=20
rs. 10 notes are 20
rs. 20 notes are 50-20=30
Then rs. 20 notes are 50-x
10x+20 (50-x)=800
10x+1000-20x=800
10x-20x=800-1000
-10x=-200
10x=200
x=200/10
x=20
rs. 10 notes are 20
rs. 20 notes are 50-20=30

Hi,
Here's your answer:-
In this question we can form it as simultaneous linear equation.
Let number of Rs.10 notes = x and Rs.20 notes = y
x+y = 50 --- (I)
10x + 20 y = 800
=> x+2y = 80--- (II)
Subtracting I from II,
x+2y = 80
x+y = 50
________
y = 30
Putting the value of y in I,
x+y = 50
=> x + 30 = 50
=> x = 20
So, number of Rs.10 notes = 20 and Rs.20 notes = 30
