a sum of rupees 3000 is to be given in the form of 63 prizes if the prize money is either rupees 100 or 25 find the number of prizes of each type

Total amount of money = Rs 3000

Total no: of prizes = 63

No: of prizes worth Rs 100 = x 
No: of prizes worth Rs  25 = y

A.T.Q .,

x + y = 63      ----> (1)

100x + 25y = 3000     ----> (2)

Multiplying equation 1 by 25 , 

25x + 25y = 1575        ----> (3)

Solving equations 2 and 3 :-

25x + 25y = 1575
100x + 25y = 3000

75x = 1425

x = 1425/75
   = 19

x + y = 63

y = 44
