Answer:

Let no. of 10 rupees notes be X

Total number of notes = 35

No. of 20 rupees notes = 35-x

By the problem ,

10x + 20× (35-x) = 500

10x + 700 - 20x = 500

-10x = 500-700

-10x = -200

10x = 200

x = 20

So no. of 10 rupees notes is 20 and no. of 20 rupees notes is 35-20 = 15

Hope it helps

Answer:

20 notes of rupees 10 and 15 notes of rupees 20

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

     number of notes of denomination of rupees 10 be 'x' in number

     number of notes of denomination of rupees 20 be 'y' in number

Total number of notes = 35   [given]

So, x + y = 35 or x = 35 - y

Also given sum of rupees = 500.

So, 10x + 20y          = 500

     10(35 - y) + 20y = 500

     350 - 10y + 20y = 500

     10y                      = 500 - 350

     y                         = 150/10

     y                          = 15

So, x = 35 - y = 35 - 15 = 20

Therefore, there are 20 notes of rupees 10 and 15 notes of rupees 20.

I hope you find the solution helpful :)
