a sum of rupees 900 is to be divided among 9 children as a prize for planting trees. if each prize is less than the proceeding prize . find the value of each of the prizes received.

Here, each price is less than the proceeding prize, so the prize amount is just adding up one after the other, like,
x + (x+1) + (x+2).... (x+9) = 900
so,
9x + 37 = 900
9x= 900-37
9x= 863.
x= 863/9
x= 95.8
so the respective prices will be,
95.8, 96.8, 97.8, 98.8, 99.8 and so on, upto ninth value.
It would sum up to 900.
