Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

a sum triples itself at simple intrest in 8 years .

To find:-

Rate of interest?

Solution:-

Let the sum be X

The sum will be triple in 8 years

=>A=3X

time =8 years

then Interest=Amount-Principle

=>I=3X-X=2X

Let the rate of interest = R

Now , we know that

SI=PTR/100

=>2X=(X)(8)R/100

=>2=8R/100

=>8R=200

=>R=200/8

=>R=25

Answer:-

Rate of interest=25%
