The sum is Rs. 462.16.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Number of years = 3

Rate of interest in the first year = 9%

Rate of interest in the second year = 6%

Rate of interest in the third year = 3%

Amount in three years = Rs. 550

So, According to question, we get that

550=P(1+\dfrac{r_1}{100})\times (1+\dfrac{r_2}{100})\times (1+\dfrac{r_3}{100})\\\\550=P(1+\dfrac{9}{100})(1+\dfrac{6}{100})(1+\dfrac{3}{100})\\\\550=P(1+0.09)(1+0.06)(1+0.03)\\\\550=P(1.09)(1.06)(1.03)\\\\\dfrac{550}{1.09\times 1.06\times 1.03}=P\\\\462.16=P

Hence, the sum is Rs. 462.16.
