Answer:

starting point = 550m below the sea level

final position = 100m below the sea level

total distance ascended = 450 m

total time taken = 15s

speed = distance/time

=450/15

=30m/s

Given:-

  • Initial position of submarine is 550 m below seas level
  • Final position of submarine = Initial position– 100 m below sea level
  • Time taken for ascending is 15 seconds.

To find:-

  • Find the speed of submarine ?

Solutions:-

  • Initial position of submarine before ascending= 550 m

Final position of submarine after ascending = 550 – 100 = 450 m

We have,

The time taken by the submarine is 10 Seconds

According to question:-

=> Speed = Distance/Time

=> Speed = 450/15

=> Speed= 30

Hence, the speed of submarine is 30 m/s.

Some Important:-

Speed, Time, Distance and velocity:

  • Speed = Distance/Time
  • Time = Distance/speed
  • Distance = Speed × Time
  • Velocity = Displacement/Time

km/hr to m/sec conversion:

  • x km/hr = x × 5/18 m/sec.

m/sec to km/hr conversion:

  • x m/sec = x × 18/5 km/hr.
