The poem is talks about marriage, marriages involves a lot of sacrifices especially from the woman and through all this she needs to be loved, caressed, supported and encouraged.
No good woman would want to sweat and kill herself from a man who does not deserve her love.
Women are human beings first and they too wants and feelings, men are you man enough to answer those questions in the poem ? and will your egos let you answer them or will it lead you to hide behind the word ''man'' like it always does ?
When a man wants to get married and he is asked on the type of lady he needs, he begins to list down a lot of staffs like, she must be well behaved, from a good family, must be educated and beautiful and must know how t cook. She must be a christian.
When the list is out he sees himself as a responsible man looking for a good wife.
However,. when a woman is asked what she want in a man , She begins her lists stuff like he must be a christian, tall and handsome, financially stable, attentive and also sensitive to my needs, should have good potential fatherhood traits, Would love me even when i am fat.
What is common in the Nigerian society is that the poem brings out is that men get bored of their wives whom they vowed in the altar before God ''for better'' ''for worse''.
men pick up young girls in the bid to ''taste fresh blood'' or ''catch them young''in fact they don't know wait till they are old some f them are newly married and still get bored.
More women are being bullied in to marriages against their will because they probably they are not sensible enough to know what they want.
The truth is that if you are a parent or guardian and your daughter decides to marry a bad man then it is you who has failed in the upbringing of your child, and you have t face the consequences and support your child through it too.
Any person who demand that you lower your standard just a tiny bit to accommodate his flaws is a coward and as a woman does not deserve your love
In case of marriages, when men are asked what they want in women they start making the list of different stuffs and after he lists out these, he is said to be a responsible person.
However, when the same thing is asked by women why the societies start rebuking her?
