Answer:

49 Cars Used

Step-by-step explanation:

A survey is carried by the school social club for the student come by car in school .x-9/2 cars carry one student √x Cars carry 2 students. √x/7 cars carry three students and x/7cars carry Four students if the total the total number of cas used number of students are 59, find the total no. of cars used by the students

Correction Done in question :  x/7cars carry Four students instead of three

1 ×(x-9)/2   + 2×√x   + 3 × √x /7  + 4× x/7  = 59

Multiplying by 14 both sides

=> 7 ×(x-9)   + 28√x   + 6√x  + 8x  = 59 × 14

=> 7x - 63 + 36√x  + 6x = 826

=> 13x + 36√x -889 = 0

=> 13x + 127√x - 91√x  - 889 = 0

=> √x(13√x + 127) - 7(13√x + 127) = 0

=> (√x - 7)(13√x + 127) = 0

=> √x = 7

Squaring both sides

=> x = 49

Answer:

It is given that

Cars                                          Student                 Type

x-\frac{9}{2}                                1                             A

√x                                      2                            B

\frac{\sqrt x}{7}                            3                            C

\frac{x}{7}                                      3                            D

Total number of students =59

As we have to use all cars , and the number of cars should be minimum.

Total number of students carried by Cars, A , B, C and D are = 1+2+3+3=9

If we want least number of cars should be used,

Car D or car C should be used 19 times and then car B should be used once.

So, number of cars used= 19+1=20

If all the cars are used , equal number of times

then , x +2 y + 3 z +3 w=59

and, x=y=z=w

x+2 x+3 x+3 x =59

9 x=59

x=\frac{59}{9}=6 \frac{5}{9}

Now, all the cars should be used 6 times, then we should use either of car C,and Car D once and then Car B only one time.

Number of cars used=6+1+1=8 cars
