Thus 50% of n = 0.5n

Another survey of a100 people in the town of chottaville found that 60% prefer brand: 60% of 100 = 60

In total 55% of all the people surveyed together prefer brand

Thus, 0.5a + 60 = 0.55(a + 100)

0.5a + 60 = 0.55a + 55

60-55 = 0.55a - 0.5a

5 = 0.05a

a= 100

There were another survey of 100 people in the town, thus the total number of people are: 100 + 100 = 200 people.

Hence, the total number of people surveyed are 200.
