Answer:

A survey was conducted among 400 students of age groups 7–12 years and 13–18 years to find their favorite music genre.

Out of the 200 students in the age group 7–12 years who participated in the survey, 142 liked rock or pop music.

The total number students of age group 7-12 = 200

So, Remaining 200 are from age group 13-18.

In the age group 7–12 years who participated in the survey, 142 liked rock or pop music.

Number of students of age group  7–12 years who liked jazz = 200-142

Number of students of age group  7–12 years who liked jazz = 58

Now we are given The total number of students of both age groups who liked jazz was 72.

Number of students of age group 13-18 who liked jazz =  72-58 =14

Out of 200 , 14 students  liked jazz

No.of students in the age group 13–18 years who liked rock or pop music = 200-14 =186

Hence  the total number of students in the age group 13–18 years who liked rock or pop music is 186
