A swimmer is able to swim in a forward direction in a swimming pool only when he is pushing the water in the backward direction. Give reason for the above mentioned statement and justify the same

The above condition follows Newtons 3rd law which states "For every action there is always equal and opposed reaction".so when the swimmer pushes water in turn he moves forward.

 It follows Newton's third law of motion. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Water is pushed back and hence, the body is pushed forward.
