A swimming pool can be filled in 4 hours by 8 pumps of the same type. how many similar pumps would be required to fill this pool in 2⅔ hours​

Answer:

Let the volume of the pool = 16 units

then Efficiency of the pump

 =  \frac{16}{8 \times 4}  \\  =  \frac{1}{2}

pumps required

 =  \frac{16}{ \frac{1}{2} \times  \frac{8}{3}  }   = pumps \: required \\  =  \frac{16 \times 6}{8}  = 12
