Answer:

Area of floor = 50 × 30

= 1500

Area of four wall = Perimeter × height

= 2 × 2.5(50 + 30)

Total surface area of swimming pool = 400 + 1500

= 1900

Cost of cementing it's floor = 1900 × 30

= 57000

  • The cost of cementing the floor and walls is Rs. 54600

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • The length of the swimming pool is 50 m
  • The breadth of the swimming pool is 30 m
  • The height of the swimming pool is 2 m

To find:

The cost of cementing the floor and the walls of the swimming pool.

So,

We need to find the area of the four walls(i.e. Lateral Surface Area) of the swimming pool and the area of the base.

  • Lateral Surface Area + Area of base

=  2h(l + b) + lb units sq.

[Here, 'l' is the length, 'b' is the 'breadth', and 'h' is the 'height']

= 2 * (2) [50 + 30] + (50 * 30)

= 4 * (80) + 1500

= 320 + 1500

= 1820 m sq.

Now,

  • According to the question,

If the cost of cementing per m sq. is Rs 30

Then

The cost of cementing the swimming pool is

= 30 * 1820

= Rs. 54600
