Pool has bottom and lateral surfaces but no top . This means that we have to take only bottom and lateral surfaces area and exclude top area .

So swimming pool is in cuboid form.

where l= 8m

b=6m

h=2m

Area of paint = Lateral Surface area + bottom area

= (2lh +2bh) +lb

= ( 2 × 8×2+2×6×2) + 8×6

= (32+24) +48

= 56+48

= 104 m square

Per 1 square metre = 6 dollars

Per 104 square metres = 6×104 = 624 dollars
