Given that
A swimming pool is fitted with 3 pipes, if first two pipes working simultaneously fill the pool in the same time as third pipe alone,if second pipe alone fills the pool 7hrs faster than first pipe and 9 hrs slower than third pipe.
let us take first ,second and third pipes as x,y and z
so,
x+y = z
y = x-7
x = z+9
So,z = x-9
from above equations
= x+(x-7) =(x-9)
= 2x - 7 = x-9
= 2x - x =-9+7
= x = -2
=-2 = 24+2 h
= 26 h
y = x - 7
= 26-7
= 19h
z = x - 9
= 26-9
= 17
x fills in one hour = 1/26
y fills in one hour = 1/19
z fills in one hour = 1/17
together they fill's = 1/26 + 1/19 +1/17
= 26+19+17/8398
