Given:

  • Length of swimming pool = 40m
  • Breadth of swimming pool = 15m
  • Depth of the pool = 4.5m and 2m

To Find:

  • The amount of water required to fill the pool in litres is = ?

Solution:

Given,

  • Length = 40m
  • Breadth = 15m
  • Depth = 4.5m and 2m

 \sf \: volume \: of \: water =  \frac{1}{2}  \times((4.5 + 2) \times 40) \times 15 \\  \\  \sf \:  =  \frac{1}{2} (6.5 \times 40) \times 15 \\  \\   \sf =   \frac{1}{2}  \times 260 \times 15 \\  \\  \sf \:  = 1950 {m}^{3}

Capacity of water in litres = 1950 * 1000 = 1950000 litres
