Pexternal=1.5 atm, V1=0.5 L; V2=1.0 L

Using the relation, △U=Q+W

W=−Pext(V2−V1)=−1.5 atm(1.0−0.5) L; [1 L.atm=101.33 Joule]

W=−1.5×0.5 L.atm=−0.75 L.atm

W=−0.75×101.33 Joule

W=−75.99 Joule

⇒△U=200 J−75.99 J=124.0 J
