let the cost of a table be X.

It is given that

cost of table and cost of a chair is as much as 5 chairs and cost of a chair is Rd.12.50 i.e

X+12.50=5(12.50)

X=5(12.50)-12.50

X=62.50-12.50

so,X=50

Therefore cost of a table =X=Rs.50
