Given:

•A table cover 4m × 2m is spread on the table.

•If 25cm of the table cover is hanging all around the table.

To find:

The area of the table top & the cost the table top at Rs.25/m².

Explanation:-

We have,

25cm all around hanging the table.

We convert in metre;

1m= 100cm

1cm=1/100m

So,

25cm= 25/100

=) 0.25m

Now,

Given,

• Length = 4m
• Breadth= 2m

length of the cover= 4m.

As 2 portion of 0.25m each are hanging, length of the table top;

=) 4m- 0.25 ×2

=) 4m - 0.5m

=) 3.5m

As 2 portion of 0.25m each are hanging breadth of the table top;

=) 2m - 0.25×2

=) 2m - 0.5m

=) 1.5m

Therefore,

Area of table top:

=) 3.5m × 1.5m

=) 5.25m²

&

Cost of polishing 1m² is Rs.25.

=) Rs.[25 × 5.25]

=) Rs.131.25
