Given:

☯ Length of table cover = 5 m

☯ Breadth of table cover = 3 m

☯ Dimensions of table cover hanging all around the table = 25 cm

To Find:

❍ Area of the table top

How to solve?

In this question, first we will convert length and breadth of table into cm, then the table cover which is hanging all around the table that is 25 cm, we will subtract it from both length and breadth. Now, we will left with the length and breadth of the table top and by applying formula we will find it's area.

Solution:

Length of table cover = 5 m

1 m = 100 cm

5 m = 5 × 100

= 500 cm

Breadth of table cover = 3 m

1 m = 100 cm

3 m = 3 × 100

= 300 cm

Length of table cover = 500 cm

Breadth of table cover = 300 cm

Substract 25 cm from both,

➟ Length of table top = ( 500 - 25 ) cm

➟ Length of table top = 475 cm

➟ Breadth of table top = ( 300 - 25 ) cm

➟ Breadth of table top = 275 cm

Length of table top = 475 cm

Breadth of table top = 275 cm

Now, find area by using formula

Area of table top = l × b

Area of table top = 475 × 275

Area of table top = 130625 cm²

Area of table top = 130625 cm²

Solution ♡

Length = 5 cm = 500 cm

Breath = 3 cm = 300 cm

(hanging) Extra Table cover = 25 cm

Length of top = 500 - 25 = 475

Breadth of top = 300 - 25 = 375

Area of top = l × b

475×375

178125cm
