Dimensions of a table cover are 5.2 m and 4.8 m but 24 cm ( = 0.24 m ) if the table cover is hanging around the table.

Dimensions of the table top:

L ( length ) = 5.20 m - 2 · 0.24 m = 5.20 m - 0.48 m = 4.72 m

W ( width ) = 4.80 m - 2 · 0.24 m = 4.80 m - 0.48 m = 4.32 m

Area of the table top:

A = L x W = 4.72 m · 4.32 m = 20.3904 m² ≈ 20.39 m²

Answer: The area of the table top is 20.39 m².
