Given:

Selling price of table = Rs. 405

Price of the tray = Rs 30

Profit = 25%

To Find:

Cost of the table to the shopekeeper

Solution:

CP = 100 / 100 + gain % x SP

= 100 / 100 + 25 x 405

= 100/125 x 405

= 40500/125

= 324

Now since he is giving a tray costing Rs. 30,

Therefore -

Cost of the table for the shopkeeper was,

= 324 - 30

= 294

Answer: Cost of the table to the shopkeeper was Rs. 294
