π = 3.14

To Find : area of the table top

Solution:

Area of Semi circle = (1/2) Area of circle

Area of circle = πR²  where R is radius of Circle

=> Area of Semi circle = (1/2) πR²

Radius = Diameter /2  = 2.4/2 = 1.2 m

area of the table top = (1/2)(3.14)(1.2)²

= 1.57 x 1.44

= 2.2608  m²

area of the table top is 2.2608  m²

we know that,

• Radius = Diameter / 2 .
• Area of semi - circle = Half of area of circle = (1/2) * π * (radius)² .

→ Radius of top of table = Diameter / 2 = 2.4 / 2 = 1.2 m .

then,

→ Area of top of table = (1/2) * 3.14 * (1.2)² = 1.57 * 1.44 = 2.2608 m². (Ans.)

Hence, the area of the table top is 2.2608 m².
