Answer: The correct answer is ii) Metamorphosis.
Metamorphosis is a biological process that describes the change in the form or structures of an animal after its hatching or birth. In frog, It represents different stages from egg till the formation of adult frog.
Metamorphoss in frog is primarily divided into -
1) Egg ( laid by female into a cluster of thousands of egg with jellylike covering for protection).
2) Embryo ( the initiation of organ and gill formation till 21 days).
3) Tadpole- After 21 days, embryo leaves jelly covering and form tadpole that possesses gills for oxygen absorption, long tail for movement.
4) Froglet- A more froglike body that loses gills and possesses lungs. Tail is shortened and bears legs.
5) Frog- It is a completely developed adult form ( developed 11 weeks after egg laying). It has completely developed lungs and legs and lives mostly on land. Tail is completely lost.
