Let B takes days =x
so A takes days = x-6
In 1 day work done by :
B=1/x
A=1/x-6
According to question
1/x+1/x-6=1/4
(x-6+x)/x²-6x=1/4
(2x-6) *4=x²-6x
8x-24=x²-6x
x²-6x-8x+24=0
x²-14x+24=0
(x-12)(x-2)
so x=12 or 2
x= 2 is not possible as A takes x-6 days that is -3 which is not possible
so B takes 12 days,

<b>Dear ,

Your Answer is ; 12 Days.

✧═════:Explanation:══════✧

• Let the number of days taken by A to finish the work be X.
• Then , Number of days taken by B to finish the work = X + 6

Now ,
• A's 1 day's work = 1/X.
• B's 1 day's work = 1/X+6

Then , we have ;-

 = > \frac{1}{x} + \frac{1}{x + 6} = \frac{1}{4}

 = > \frac{2x + 6}{ {x}^{2} + 6x } = \frac{1}{4}

 = > {x}^{2} + 6x - 8x - 24 = 0

 = > {x}^{2} - 2x - 24 = 0

 = > x = 6

Therefore,
Time taken by B to finish the work = X + 6
=> 6 + 6 = 12 Days.
