AS PER THE CONDITION..…
if they work together..…

1/x+1/x-6=1...........if they work together one day work

4/x + 4/x-6 = 4.............4 days work together

therefore making denominator equal

4(x-6)+4(x)/x^2-6x=4
taking 4 common...…
4(x-6+x/x^2-6x)=4
x-6+x/x^2-6x=4/4
2x-6/x^2-6x=1
2x-6=x^2-6x
x^2-6x-2x+6=0
x^2-8x+6=0
BY FACTORIZING....…
x^2-4x-2x+6=0
x(x-4)-2(x-4)=0
(x-2) or (x-4)=0
x=4 or x=2
a=1/4-2
a=1/2
b=1/4
