Assume that B takes x days to finish it.
remember : " If a person does a work in x days..work done in one day is 1/x ".
A takes x-6 days to complete the work according to question.
Work done by A on one day is 1/(x-6)
given if both work together they can do it in 4 days...
so work done in a day is 1/4...
work done in a day = work done by A in one day + work done by B in one day
so...
1/4 = 1/(x-6) + 1/x
x(x-6) = 4(2x-6)
solve for x..ignore negative values
