a tank 20 m long, 12m wide and 8m deep is to be made of iron sheet. it is open at the top. determine the cost of iron sheet, at the rate of rs 12.50 pet metre, if the sheet is 2.5m wide..please answer as fast as possible

w = 2.5 m

Total area of sheet required for tank open at top is given by -

A = lb + 2lh + 2bh

A = 20×12 + 2×20×8 + 2×12×8

A = 240 + 320 + 192

A = 752 m²

To get this much sheet, length of iron sheet of 2.5 m width is calculated by -

x = A / w

x = 752 / 2.5

x = 300.8 m

Cost of this much iron sheet is -

Total cost = 300.8 × 12.50

Total cost = 3760 Rs

Therefore, cost of iron sheet is 3760 Rs.
