A tank 6m long and 4 m wide contains water up to a depth of 1 m 25 cm. The total area of the wet surface is:

area which is wet is 4 sides of tank and bottom surface

  area of bottom = 6 × 4

                             = 24 m²

  area of 6m long side = 6 × 1.25

                                        = 7.5 m²

  area of 4 m wide side = 4 × 1.25

                                        = 5 m²

  as there are each 2 side , So

         7.5 × 2 = 15  and

         5 × 2 = 10

  so total total area =

                                  = 10 + 15 +24

                                  = 49 m²
